‎‎Social media personality and leader of the Ratel Movement, VeryDarkMan, has raised concerns over an alleged plan to arrest him upon his return to Nigeria.

‎In a video shared on his official social media page on Saturday, the activist, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, claimed he received a warning from an anonymous caller advising him not to publicly announce his return to the country.

‎According to him, the caller also warned him against travelling with his phones, alleging that security operatives could arrest him immediately after arriving at the airport.

‎ “An anonymous number called me today and warned me. He said, ‘VeryDarkMan, when you are coming to Nigeria, make sure you do not announce it and also make sure your phones are not with you,’” he said.

‎VeryDarkMan further alleged that the planned arrest was linked to claims that the current government believes he is being sponsored by political opponents to speak on sensitive national issues that portray the administration negatively.

‎ “Based on the talks going on underground, the present government believes their enemies are sponsoring me to talk about some topics,” he added.

‎The activist, however, maintained that he does not need financial backing to speak on issues affecting Nigerians, insisting that he would continue to use his platform to address matters concerning the public regardless of threats or intimidation.

‎ “I would rather be arrested for speaking up than remain silent despite having a voice,” he stated.

‎He also criticised the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing the government of not doing enough to improve the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians.
