President Bola Tinubu has signed off on a fresh wave of federal appointments, installing 26 individuals across the leadership of ten agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti governor Ayo Fayose among the biggest names to emerge from the reshuffle.
Fayose takes over as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency, a post confirmed in a statement released Monday by the presidential spokesman on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga. He’ll be joined on the REA board by Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive directors. At the same time, the agency’s sitting Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, stays on alongside three previously appointed executive directors.
A new face atop the Wages Commission
Major General Junaid Bindawa assumes the chairmanship of the National Salary and Wages Commission, one of eight fresh appointments Tinubu made to the body. Former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas steps in as the commission’s secretary, while three commissioners join, representing different states: Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian for Benue, Oladele Olatubosun for Oyo, and Yakubu Umar Barde for Kaduna. Rounding out the commission’s membership are Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
Reshuffles and reassignments
Not every appointee is entirely new to government. Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who had been running the National Lottery Trust Fund as Executive Secretary, moves across to the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission to take up the secretary role there instead.

Elsewhere, Tinubu named Dr Abuh Mohammed to head the National Population Commission as Director-General, put Dr Akinola Odeyemi in charge of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc as Managing Director, and handed Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin the chairman/CEO seat at the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
At the Kwara-based National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization, Engineer Julius Oloro, a former council chairman, steps in as CEO, filling the vacancy left by Dr A.R. Kamal’s death in January.
Fiscal Responsibility Commission gets a full board
The president also constituted an entirely new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, naming Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman. He’ll be supported by board members Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Literacy Commission and Housing Authority also see changes
Shuni Muhammad Dahiru takes over as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who moved to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund back in April.
At the Federal Housing Authority, Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist and legal scholar currently serving as secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, also steps in to replace Mathias Byuan, who quit the role to run for governor of Benue State.
According to the presidency, all 26 appointments took effect immediately.
