The African Democratic Congress has denied fraudulent claims about the sale of nomination forms in a statement posted on its X account on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026.
The public notice, which was signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, highlighted that the attention of the ADC National Headquarters has been drawn to a viral videos circulating on Social media, “alleging that the National Chairman, Senator David Mark, GCON, passed a message through a fraudulent stakeholder authorizing the sale of nomination forms”
The statement expressed that official communication from the National Chairman or the National Working Committee must pass through the Valid official Channels. This official communication must be issued through the National Publicity Secretary. Also, they stated that any contrary to the aforementioned should be regarded as false and unauthorized
“Any other message claiming to represent the position of the National Chairman or NWC is false, unauthorized, and a blatant lie being spread on social media without shame. It would be hilarious if it were not tragic for party unity and progress ahead of the 2027 elections.”
Secondly, the statement explained the mandate for Sale of Nomination Forms: the office of the National Organizing Secretary Is constitutionally responsible for the sale of nomination forms for the offices of President, Governor, Senate and House of Representatives while the state Party Headquarters is responsible for the sale of nomination forms for State House of Assembly.
“Any sale, collection or purported authorization outside these offices is a direct violation of the party constitution and the Electoral Act process.” The statement added.
Thirdly, the party explained the coordination of party activities and affairs in the state. “The National Chairman and the National Working Committee conduct all party activities and affairs in the states strictly through the recognized State Party Headquarters. No individual or unauthorized group has the mandate to act outside this structure”
The party promised to punish those engaging impersonation and misinformation in line with the party constitution and the law. “The party warns members and the public to disregard any fraudulent messages, unauthorized agents and fake directives circulating online” the statement reads
