The African Democratic congress (ADC) has officially announced the 2026 primary elections timetable on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026.
According to the publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, he stated that the timetable reflects its “commitment to internal democracy, orderliness and full compliance with electoral guidelines”
Mr Bolaji Abdullahi noted that the party’s nomination forms will be sold from May 5 to May 10, 2026 while the submission of completed forms will take place from May 11 to May 13, 2026.
Mr Abdullah also noted that the aspirants will be screened from May 14 to May 15, 2026 which the publication of the screening results will be on May 17, 2026
Mr Abdullah further noted that “appeals will be heard” between May 18 and May 19, 2026. While on May 20, 2026, the final list of cleared aspirants will be released.
The primary elections which included elections for state Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats will commence on May 21, 2026. The Governorship primaries was said to take place on May 22, 2026 while the Presidential primary will take place on May 25, 2026
According to the publicity Secretary, he noted that all the activities will be followed by a meeting of the National Executive Committee on May 26, 2026, while the Special National Convention will take place on May 27, 2026 where final ratifications will be made.
Furthermore, Mr Bolaji Abdullahi noted that with the party’s commitment to inclusivity and broad participation, there is an approved structured fee for nominations forms across all elective positions. “The presidential nomination form is pegged at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, Senate at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million and State House of Assembly at ₦3 million” the statement reads.
Mr Bolaji Abdullahi said that in the party’s encouragement for wider participation, they introduced a concessional rates offering “a 50 percent discount for youths and a 25 percent discount for women and persons with disabilities”
The party urged all members, stakeholders and aspirants to “adhere strictly to the outlined schedule and guidelines”
