Senator Fatai Buhari, a governorship aspirant under the All Progressive Congress has declared his readiness to contest in the primary election at the Oyo APC Secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan on Monday, May 11, 2026.
During his declaration, he insisted that a free and fair direct primary involving all 10 aspirants is the only thing that can bring unity to the fractured party.
He rejected any move towards consensus, demanding that every aspirant be given a level playing field, “only an aspirant who is scared of losing will insist on consensus” he added.
He further argued that “anyone who fears primary election cannot win the General election”
He strongly advised Moses Adeyemo Alake, Oyo State APC chairman ” when you do the right thing at the right time, people will respect you”
He further expressed that three things should be used as yardsticks if the party wish to govern the state; Character, competence and capacity. “People will appreciate your competence if they know you can do it.” He noted.
The Oyo State APC Chairman, Moses Adeyemo stated that “Buhari Fatai remains the best Senator our people have ever produced” he further commended him for his remarkable achievements, dedication and impactful contributions across Oyo State senatorial District
