The Nigeria Police Force has rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons, after three days in captivity.

The development was confirmed by a source within the police force on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

AfrikTimes had earlier reported that Mrs. John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, while she was on her way to drop them off at school in Ibadan.

The incident was initially confirmed in a statement issued by Femi Awogboro, Media Aide to Bayo Adelabu, who disclosed that armed gunmen intercepted and abducted the victims during the journey.

Further details on the rescue operation are expected to be released by the police.
