By Commandant Toma Enya took over as the new head of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ Osun State Command on Monday, according to a statement from Command spokesperson ASC I Kehinde Adeleke. Enya, redeployed from the Ekiti State Command, succeeds Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo.
Following the handover ceremony at the State Command Headquarters, Sotiyo accompanied Enya on a courtesy visit to the Government Office in Abere, where Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi received them. During the visit, Enya pledged to strengthen intelligence gathering and information-sharing across the state, assuring that the command under his leadership would remain focused on protecting lives, property and critical national assets.
Responding, the Deputy Governor welcomed Enya to Osun and pledged the state government’s continued support, saying Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration would keep backing the NSCDC as it carries out its statutory mandate and contributes to security and development in the state.
Enya hails from Ajaokuta Local Government Area in Kogi State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. Over the course of his career, he has served the Corps in various operational, investigative, and administrative roles and has attended several professional courses in security architecture, leadership and administration both within Nigeria and abroad.
