According to preliminary investigations, the suspects are allegedly members of the Eiye Confraternity and are suspected of belonging to a criminal gang accused of terrorising residents and members of the public around Mackay Junction in Osogbo.

Drugs, Charms Recovered

The police said items recovered during the raids included suspected criminal charms, illicit drugs and cash believed to be proceeds of illicit drug activities.

The command stated that the suspects had been charged to court.

It added that intelligence gathering and tactical operations were being intensified to identify, arrest and prosecute other individuals allegedly involved in cultism, drug-related offences and other crimes across Osun State.

Police Commissioner Warns Criminal Groups

CP Zungura reiterated that Osun State would not be a safe haven for cultists, drug peddlers or other criminal elements.

He warned individuals and groups involved in criminal activities to desist or face the full weight of the law.

The command said the raids would continue across identified black spots and criminal hideouts as part of efforts to tackle crime and sustain peace and security in Osogbo and other parts of the state.

Police Urge Residents to Report Suspicious Activities

The command urged parents, guardians, community leaders, landlords and other stakeholders to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or criminal activities to the nearest police station or through established emergency channels.
