Liverpool manager Arne Slot has reiterated that pressure is an ever-present reality at Liverpool, as he called on his players to stay focused during a decisive phase of the season.
“There is always pressure at Liverpool; on me, on the players and that is completely normal,” Slot said, underlining the high expectations that come with managing one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Dutch tactician pointed to the team’s progress in cup competitions as a sign of resilience and quality, with Liverpool advancing to the quarter-finals of both the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League. He noted that competing on multiple fronts reflects the squad’s depth, but also places additional physical and mental demands on the players.
Slot stressed, however, that their position in the Premier League remains the primary concern. With the race for top-four intensifying, he warned that consistency in league matches will be crucial in the weeks ahead.
“We need to make sure that, in the end, we qualify for the Champions League,” he said, acknowledging that failure to secure a top-four finish would fall short of the club’s ambitions.
He also hinted at the importance of squad rotation and managing player fitness as Liverpool domestic and European fixtures, adding that every point in the league could prove decisive. The manager urged his players to maintain focus, discipline, and belief as they navigate what he described as a “critical period” in the campaign.
