French Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille have officially parted ways with club president Pablo Longoria after both parties reached a mutual agreement on his exit conditions. The decision follows a series of internal discussions amid ongoing structural changes within the club. Longoria, who joined Marseille in 2020 as sporting director before being elevated to president in 2021, had played a key role in shaping the club’s recent sporting and financial direction.
However, his influence had reportedly diminished in recent months as the club underwent a broader reorganisation, leading to negotiations over his future. Those talks have now concluded with an agreement that formalises his departure.
In a brief statement, Marseille thanked Longoria for his service, acknowledging his efforts during a challenging period that saw the club return to European competitions, including the UEFA Champions League. An interim leadership structure is expected to oversee operations while the club begins the search for a new president.
Longoria leaves Marseille after a tenure marked by both notable progress and internal challenges, and is widely expected to remain a sought-after figure in European football administration.
