The All Progressives Congress has announced a new timetable for its primary elections in Zamfara State ahead of the 2026 general elections.
In a statement issued on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Abuja, the party said the exercise would begin with the House of Representatives primaries on Monday, May 18, while the Senate primaries are scheduled for Tuesday, May 19.

According to the revised timetable, the House of Assembly primaries will hold on Wednesday, May 20, followed by the governorship primary on Thursday, May 21. The presidential primary election is expected to take place on Saturday, May 23.
The party also released dates for appeals arising from the primaries. Appeals for the House of Representatives exercise will be heard on Tuesday, May 19, while Senate appeals are fixed for Wednesday, May 20. Appeals for the House of Assembly primaries will hold on Thursday, May 21, while governorship appeals are slated for Friday, May 22.
National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, said the adjustments were part of arrangements for the conduct of the party’s primary elections in Zamfara State.
The statement was signed by Morka on behalf of the party’s national leadership in Abuja.
