By The People’s Democratic Party led by Tanimu Turaki SAN interim National Working Committee (INWC) has cleared former President Good luck Ebele Jonathan as the Parties Sole Presidential candidate for the forthcoming 2027 Presidential Election.
The decision was announced during the PDP presidential screening exercise held on Tuesday at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja where other aspirants appeared before a screening panel. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been granted an automatic ticket to contest the 2027 presidential election, exempting him from the party’s screening and other internal nomination processes.
In a video obtained by Afriktimes, speaking on behalf of the committee, the former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu stated that the former president would not partake in any screening process.
“And therefore, the party has given him waiver to come on such following. In other words, he has been declared and cleared as a candidate of the PDP for the presidential election.”
The development follows a faction’s decision to schedule Jonathan for screening alongside thousands of other aspirants seeking various elective offices.
