By President Bola Tinubu has congratulated elder statesman, Alhaji Ashafa Ajibola Erogbogbo, on the occasion of his 100th birthday, describing the milestone as a rare blessing and a reward for a life dedicated to service, discipline, and integrity.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the State House, the President joined the family of the centenarian in thanking God for what he described as a century-long journey of impact and national service.
Tinubu praised Erogbogbo for his contributions during his years of service at the Government Printing Press, the Nigeria Customs and Excise, and later at Shell Company Nigeria Limited, where he retired as an aviation supervisor.
“Reaching 100 years is a remarkable milestone, a rare blessing, and a reward for a life of discipline, dedication, integrity, and selfless service to humanity and the nation,” the President said.
The President noted that the elder statesman distinguished himself through professionalism, diligence, and commitment to excellence in all the institutions where he worked.
Tinubu also acknowledged Erogbogbo’s influence within the Ikorodu community in Lagos State, describing him as a respected leader and mentor whose wisdom and exemplary lifestyle continue to inspire younger generations.
“Your wisdom, counsel, and exemplary lifestyle continue to inspire younger generations,” he stated.
The President further highlighted that the centenarian remains mentally sharp and warm-hearted despite his age. He also referenced the forthcoming publication of Erogbogbo’s autobiography titled Echoes of Grace: The Journey of a Century, released to commemorate the birthday.
Tinubu rejoiced with the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the celebrant, including the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
“As you celebrate this milestone, I pray that Almighty Allah will continue to sustain you with good health, peace, strength, and happiness,” the President added.
