The Independent National Electoral Commission, Osun State, has extended the collection of Permanent Voter Cards at registration area level to Friday, July 31, 2026.
The extension is contained in a press release signed by Ariyo Rufus, Head of Department, Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Inclusivity, INEC Osun State, for the Resident Electoral Commissioner.
The commission recalled that it commenced distribution of PVCs at registration area level from Wednesday, July 22 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
During the exercise, a total of 322,822 PVCs, representing 62 per cent of the available cards, were collected.
INEC said that having regard to complaints and large crowds at collection centres, as well as other difficulties experienced during the exercise, the commission approved the extension of PVC collection at registration areas to July 31 to enable more eligible voters to exercise their civic right.
The commission clarified that the extension is without prejudice to the collection of PVCs at Local Government Area level, which will now commence from August 1 to August 7, 2026.
INEC urged concerned registered voters to take advantage of the extended window and collect their Permanent Voter Cards.
