A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of properties worth ₦1.9 billion, including shares, ₦288 million, and a five-bedroom duplex linked to the recently jailed former Acting Accountant-General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, to the Federal Government.

Justice James Omotosho granted the final forfeiture order on Wednesday, May 13, following an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 1, urging the court to confiscate the assets.

Nwabuoku was convicted and sentenced by Justice Omotosho on Monday, March 23, 2026, to 72 years imprisonment on a nine-count charge bordering on money laundering involving ₦868,465,000.

According to the EFCC, the court held that the assets were proceeds of unlawful activities perpetrated by Nwabuoku.

The anti-graft agency stated that the forfeited assets include funds recovered from Temeeo Synergy Concept Limited, Turge Global Investment Limited, Laptev Bridge Limited, Arrafura Transnational Afro Limited, and the sum of ₦288,590,790 refunded by Nwabuoku.

Other forfeited assets include a five-bedroom duplex located at No. 20, City Gate Estate, Kukwaba, Abuja, as well as stocks acquired by the convict in various security companies, valued at ₦1,941,805,342 as of March 29, 2026.
