Speaking during an interview, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State advised residents of the state to vote President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The governor expressed that President Tinubu had a direct connection with Delta State, through the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, who is of indigenous descent from the state. He noted that because of this strong relationship, president Tinubu had an higher chance in the state and it should be regarded as “family affair”
“The man is an in-law here and it would be evil to vote against your in-law. It’s a family affair. In the South-South, the people in Delta are saying this is their own,” Oborevwori stated.
He also added that “The First Lady is holding the state strong, and no Itsekiri person will vote against Tinubu. No Urhobo man will because their son is the governor,”
He also highlighted that the president’s reforms and programmes are in good condition. He affirmed that the money being spent by the government is from the commissioner projects.
The Governor’s comment emanated after the Warri Kingdom conferred a traditional title of Utukpa-Oritse of the kingdom on the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu in February 2026,
