Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has accused Fayose making unfounded claims when authorities are finding means to rescue abducted victims.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for information, the commissioner stated that Nigerians would be surprised with his unfounded claims regarding his recent comments on the issue of insecurity in Oyo state.
Oyelade explained that Nigerians should pray for Fayose and the Governor’s main focus at the moment is to tackle the issue of insecurity in the states.
“Governor Makinde is too preoccupied with finding a solution to the challenges posed by the kidnappers of children and teachers in the state to engage someone whose lifestyle and comportment have been suspect over a long time,” Oyelade noted
He further explained that the former governor is being carried away by the games of politics which is detrimental to the lives of those in captivity
“For a former governor to be so consumed by the politics of vindictiveness, vileness, deceit and hate, that he would further endanger the lives of those in captivity and distract security agents from handling this delicate job, smacks of one who has lost his mind.”
The controversy began after Fayose, speaking on Channels TV on Monday, had accused Seyi Makinde that the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers may have been planned by him to blackmail President Bola Tinubu. He uttered these statements without evidence
“He did not take any action; no steps were taken. It was after those nominations that he went to the families to visit them”
