By President Bola Tinubu would leave Abuja for Europe today to begin a three-week break as part of his annual leave, according to a statement from the Presidency.
The statement, issued by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga through his Facebook page, said London would be the President’s first destination. It did not specify an itinerary beyond that or name any other cities he plans to visit during the vacation.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu is expected back in the country once the break concludes, positioning him to plunge straight into what the statement described as the demanding campaign period building toward the January 2027 election. The framing suggests the trip is being treated less as a pause from politics altogether and more as a recharge before an intense stretch of campaigning gets underway.
Furthermore, no further details were provided on the President’s engagements while abroad, or on who will be handling presidential duties in Abuja during his absence.
