The National Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party has validated the appointment of a 13-member interim National Working Committee (NWC) to run the party, with Kabiru Tanimu Turaki emerging as chairman.
This decision was backed by the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, held at the 103rd NEC meeting on Monday in Abuja.
Other key members of the interim National Working Committee include Amb. Taofeek Arapaja as the Secretary, Hon. INI Ememobong as the Publicity Secretary, Hon. Theophilus Dakkas as the National Organizing Secretary. The full 13 member list was approved by two-thirds of NEC members
The decision comes amidst the leadership crisis within the political party following the internal disputes that have unsettled the party’s national structure.
