The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, on Saturday visited Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State following May 15 attack on schools in the area which resulted in deaths and the abduction of pupils and school officials.

During the visit, the police chief sympathised with families of those killed in the attack and assured residents that security agencies were working round the clock to rescue the victims and track down the attackers.

Disu arrived in the state alongside the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Ojo Adekimi, due to the strategic location of Oriire communities near the Kwara border. He was also accompanied by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Schools Protection Squad, CP Abayomi Shogunle.

The visit comes amid intensified rescue efforts by security agencies following the attack on schools in Ahoro-Esinele community on Friday.
