Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled a 27-man squad for the 2026 Unity Cup scheduled to hold in London later this month, as the Super Eagles prepare to defend the title they won in the previous edition.
The tournament, which returns after years of absence, is expected to feature defending champions Nigeria alongside Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and India from May 26 to May 30.
Nigeria will begin their campaign against Zimbabwe in the opening semi-final fixture on May 26, while Jamaica will face India in the second semi-final the following day. All matches will be played at The Valley Stadium in London, as AfrikTimes earlier reported.
The squad, dominated by a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents, includes regular stars such as Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon and Akor Adams, as well as seven Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) players, including Ayobami Junior from Shooting Stars, Michael Atata, Aderemi Adeoye, among others.
In goal, Chelle invited Francis Uzoho of Omonia FC, Arthur Okonkwo of Wrexham AFC and Atata Michael of Ikorodu City.
The defensive line features Emmanuel Fernandez (Glasgow Rangers), Chibuike Nwaiwu (Trabzonspor), Igho Ogbu (Slavia Prague), Elias Ochobi (Rivers United), Chibueze Oputa (Rangers FC), Obinna Igboke (Rangers FC) and Bruno Onyemaechi (Olympiacos).
The midfield department includes Wilfred Ndidi (Besiktas JK), Samson Tijani (FK Dukla Prague), Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge), Tochukwu Nnadi (Olympique Marseille), Ebenezer Akinsanmiro (Pisa SC), Alhassan Yusuf (New England Revolution), Aderemi Adeoye (Ikorodu City), Ayobami Junior (Shooting Stars) and Oyedokun Tosin (Ikorodu City).
Leading the attack are Moses Simon (Paris FC), Akor Adams (Sevilla FC), Philip Otele (Hamburger SV), Oseni Owen (Plymouth FC), Zadok Abu Yohanna (AIK), Terem Moffi (FC Porto), Rafiu Durosinmi (Pisa FC) and Femi Azeez (Millwall FC).
The Unity Cup is expected to serve as part of preparations for upcoming tournaments, while also giving the coaching crew the opportunity to assess new players and tactical options.
