Teachers abducted during the recent attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area have called on both the state and federal governments to come to their aid and negotiate with their abductors.

The abducted principal and another teacher recently appeared in videos recorded just days after they were kidnapped. In the footage, they appealed to the government to negotiate with the gunmen and secure their release.

In the videos obtained by AfrikTimes, the Principal of Community High School, Esiele, Mrs. Alamu Folawe, visibly distressed, pleaded for immediate government intervention, warning that one of the victims had allegedly been selected for execution.

“Please, I am here again to beg the government, President Tinubu and the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, to please help us and dialogue with these people.

“They should not use force. The force they used yesterday has cost us so much. It has added to our problems.

“In fact, one of us has been picked, and they are going to kill him because the government tried to help us by force. We want you to call them and dialogue with them so that our lives will be saved,” she lamented.

Another teacher, seen holding her child in the video, also appealed to the government to accede to the demands of the abductors.

“We are pleading to our Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, please help us. Negotiate with these people. Whatever they want, please give it to them.

“Please help us save our lives. We are all here, the teachers and the children. Please, we need your help.”

She added that they had been held captive for about two weeks and urged the government to act swiftly.

“President Tinubu, please negotiate with these people. Please help us. Whatever they want, please give it to them. Please help us save our lives.

“Today again is Children’s Day. For about 14 days now, we have been here in the bush. Please help us,” she said.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the police nor the government had issued any public statement regarding the incident.
