By The Federal Ministry of Education has dismissed as fake a viral press release claiming that the National Award Scholarship had been suspended indefinitely and that the Federal Scholarship Board had been dissolved.
The purported statement, dated May 29, 2026, circulated widely on social media, alleged that the ministry had halted the scholarship scheme due to financial constraints, unpaid obligations, and alleged misappropriation of funds within the system.
However, the ministry clarified through its official social media handle that the document did not originate from the Federal Ministry of Education and should be disregarded by the public.
The fake notice also claimed that outstanding scholarship payments had no immediate timeline for disbursement and that the Federal Scholarship Board had been dissolved as part of a restructuring process.
Reacting to the circulation of the document, the ministry described the publication as “Fake”, stressing that the information contained in it was not authentic.
Students, parents, and beneficiaries of federal scholarship programmes are therefore advised to rely only on verified communication channels for updates concerning scholarship policies and disbursement.
