Police in Osun State are investigating after the body of an unidentified woman was found on church premises in the Obelewo area of Osogbo over the weekend. Her left wrist had been severed and removed from the scene.

Force spokesman Ani Iniedu said in a statement issued Sunday that detectives were dispatched after the discovery was reported. According to preliminary findings, the woman had been killed before her wrist was removed by persons yet to be identified. The circumstances of her death, including any motive, remain under investigation.

Her body has been taken to a hospital mortuary for autopsy. The case has been assigned to the Osun State Police Command’s State Criminal Investigation Department, which is working to establish the victim’s identity alongside the broader investigation. Furthermore, no arrests have been announced, as the police have not said whether the case is being examined in connection with any earlier incidents in the area.
