Flying Eagles Invite 35 Players Ahead of WAFU B U-20 Championship

Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 men national team, Abdu Maikaba, has invited 35 players to the Flying Eagles camp as preparations continue for the forthcoming WAFU B U-20 Championship slated for July in Côte d’Ivoire.

The invited squad, released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Friday, May 15, comprises goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards selected from clubs across the country and on the international stage as the team begins camping ahead of the regional tournament.

The list includes three goalkeepers, ten defenders, nine midfielders and thirteen forwards expected to battle for places in the final squad.

Coach Maikaba, together with his assistants, is expected to oversee training sessions and tactical drills.

The invited players are:

Goalkeepers:

Clinton Lawani, Abubakar Rufai, Uchechukwu Aloysius.

Defenders:

Ayinla Olayomi, Abubakar Aliyu, Favour Nkwocha, Wahab Bolanle, Bonaventure Chiemela, Gamagira Uma, Mathias Azi, Mutari Momoh, Abdulaziz Musa, Godwin Samuel.

Midfielders:

Victor Samuel, Oraro Apine, Sa’ad Tijjani, Peres Jerem, Ayeni Samson, Habila Simeon, Simon Karshe, Auwalu Mohammed, Ibrahim Yakubu.

Forwards:

Abba Dalli, Prince Columbus, Goodluck Angel, Imrana Mohammed, Adamu Hussaini, Seun Akanji, Shamsudeen Adamu, Alex Leme, Ezekiel Oguchukwu, Mus’ab Suleiman, Peter Pam Davou.

The West African Football Union Zone B tournament brings together national football teams from across the zone, including Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Togo.
