Popular Nigerian content creator and actor, Jubril Oladapo Gbadamosi, widely known as Officer Woos, has denied allegations circulating on social media linking him to drug trafficking and claims that he announced the death of a close associate.
The denial was contained in a press statement issued on Friday June 19, 2026, by his legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, who described the allegations as false, malicious and defamatory.
According to the law firm, anonymous social media accounts had published claims suggesting that Officer Woos had been under arrest since 2025 over alleged drug trafficking activities. The same accounts were also accused of falsely claiming that the entertainer publicly announced the death of a close colleague on his official social media platforms.
The solicitors dismissed both allegations, insisting that their client has never been arrested, investigated, charged or connected to any drug trafficking offence.
“Both claims are entirely false, fabricated, and without any basis whatsoever,” the statement said.
The lawyers further maintained that Officer Woos has never announced the death of any colleague, friend or associate on any of his social media accounts, describing the publications as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish his reputation.
Versed Attorneys argued that the circulation of false allegations capable of damaging a person’s reputation amounts to defamation under Nigerian law and may attract both civil and criminal consequences.
The firm stated that its client has demanded an immediate and unconditional retraction from all individuals and platforms involved in publishing and spreading the allegations.
“Our Client categorically denies the said publications in their entirety and demands an immediate and unconditional retraction,” the statement noted.
The legal representatives also called for a public apology to be issued on the same platforms where the allegations were published within 48 hours of the release of the statement.
They warned that failure to comply could result in legal proceedings against the original publishers as well as individuals or platforms that continue to repost or amplify the claims.
“We have the instructions of our Client to take all necessary legal actions,” the lawyers stated.
The firm urged members of the public and media organisations to disregard the allegations and rely only on information released through Officer Woos’ verified channels and official representatives.
