  • A man identified as Taoheed Ojoiku is reportedly killed during a clash between rival groups at Ita Olokan, Osogbo, on Sunday morning
  • The incident follows the killing of two people by suspected cultists at Owo Eba, also in Osogbo, just two days earlier on Friday
  • Circumstances of the latest attack remain unconfirmed, though sources suggest it may be connected to Friday’s killings

Osogbo recorded its second fatal on Sunday, after a clash between rival groups in the Ita Olokan area left a man identified as Taoheed Ojoiku dead, barely two days after a separate cult-related attack killed two people elsewhere in the city.

Residents say trouble broke out around 9:30am Sunday, throwing the area into disarray as the confrontation unfolded. Ojoiku was rushed to a nearby hospital following the attack but was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.

AfrikTimes could not immediately establish the specific circumstances behind Sunday’s clash. Still, sources close to the situation suggested the incident may not be unrelated to Friday’s killings at Owo Eba, where two men died. Four others were injured in a suspected cult confrontation along the Osogbo/Ilesa Road.

No arrests have been reported in connection with either incident as of the time of filing, and police are yet to issue an official statement on Sunday’s shooting. This is a developing story, and AfrikTimes will provide updates as more details emerge.
