The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced April 28 to April 30, 2026, as the official dates for the written examination of applicants seeking recruitment as Police Constables. The exercise will take place nationwide, covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, marking a critical stage in the ongoing recruitment process.
According to the press release issued by the Oyo State Police Command, the Oyo State examination will be conducted at the ETF 2009/2010 1,000 Capacity Hall of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, located along the Sango–Eleyele Road. The statement confirmed that only candidates who successfully passed the earlier physical and credential screening will be eligible to sit for the examination.
Qualified applicants have been directed to access the recruitment portal starting from April 24, 2026, to print their Examination Invitation Cards. The slip will provide essential details, including each candidate’s specific date, time, and venue for the test.
Candidates are required to appear at the examination centre with a pen, their National Identification Number (NIN) slip bearing a clear photograph, and the printed invitation card. In addition, a strict dress code has been outlined, mandating participants to wear white shorts, a white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.
The Police Service Commission emphasized that the recruitment exercise is completely free, warning applicants to steer clear of fraudsters and individuals demanding money under the guise of facilitating recruitment. According to the release, any person found engaging in such illegal activities would face prosecution in line with the law.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbemiga, encouraged candidates to adhere strictly to all guidelines, remain orderly, and cooperate with officials during the exercise. He reassured applicants of a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, urging them to report any suspicious activity to security agencies through designated emergency lines.
